Graduation is a momentous occasion in any young adult's life. Whether they've just finished high school, college, or grad school, the ceremony is meant to recognize and celebrate the students' academic accomplishments. This year, however, the Class of 2020 will be deprived of the traditional pop and circumstance as ceremonies around the country are being cancelled due to COVID-19.

But Facebook and Instagram are working to make sure that 2020's graduates know how appreciated they are. On May 15, Facebook Watch will broadcast #Graduation2020: Facebook and Instagram Celebrate the Class of 2020, a multi-hour commencement celebration event. The main commencement speaker is none other than the spectacular Oprah Winfrey, and additional words of wisdom will be shared by Awkwafina, Jennifer Garner, Lil Nas X, Simone Biles, and more. Miley Cyrus will also be performing her song "The Climb," and if that doesn't properly signify four years in school we don't know what does.

Everyone is invited, so virtually gather all your loved ones to watch the star-studded ceremony and celebrate the achievements of your graduate. And even though there won't be any official graduation ceremonies, encourage your grad to walk across the room proudly to receive her diploma, don his robes, joyously throw his mortarboard in the air. After all, a pandemic shouldn't prevent your graduate from celebrating the wonderful accomplishment they've achieved.
