Oprah vs. Trump. Family separation policy divides Yahoo readers

“I thought Oprah moved to Canada?”

“Why should we care what Oprah says?”

Oprah Winfrey isn’t pleased with what’s going on at the U.S.-Mexico border. Migrant children and parents are being forcibly separated at the border due to President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance policy.

There’s been a ton of support for and against the policy, with Oprah being one of the biggest names opposing the separation of families.

Babies torn from their parents,” Winfrey tweeted. “Can’t stand it!”

Many Yahoo commenters stand with Oprah, agreeing that families should not be separated. “I feel sorry for the kids who have [been] removed from their parents,” one commenter wrote. “KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER,” wrote another.

Although Oprah is one of the most beloved people on the planet, some people support Trump and his view on the matter a bit more. “President Trump is trying to get this country back on track,” expressed a commenter. “He loves America!” “First of all it is NOT a Trump policy, it is the LAW,” said another.

Oprah isn’t the only famous face against the policy. Former first ladies Laura Bush and Michelle Obama have each condemned the policy.

Sometimes truth transcends party,” Obama tweeted.

Celebs Reese Witherspoon and Chrissy Teigen are also speaking out.

“These images of parents and children being separated is horrifying,” Witherspoon tweeted.
