OREO Introduces Decadent New Flavor That Won't Be Available for Long

A new limited-edition offering is joining the ever-growing lineup this April.

Chocolate-lovers aren't going to want to miss out on this!

A new OREO flavor is hitting shelves in April, the brand announced on March 28.

The company teased a more "decadent" offering, introducing OREO Blackout Cake—a double-layered, rich and chocolatey limited-edition cookie featuring "classic chocolate basecakes with a layer of Chocolate Cake flavor creme, stacked on top of a layer of Dark Chocolate Cake flavor creme," per the unveiling.

Several consumers of the Samuel J. Porcello-created treat—which debuted in the U.S. all the way back in 1912—celebrated the release, raving over the flavor-to-come in the comment section of the social media post.

"Counting down the days! ??????♀?" one wrote, as another said, "I will be on the lookout for these!!!!!"

"JUST IN TIME FOR MY BIRTHDAY!" a third fan excitedly penned.

On the other hand, several campaigned to bring back beloved limited-edition flavors-of-the-past, writing, "If y’all didn’t want to release a totally new flavor, why not just bring back Blueberry Pie? ??," "BRING BACK RED VELVET," and "Where’s the golden Oreo with chocolate filling!?"

"Strawberry double stuffed or my wallet stays at home...go back to the drawing board," another threatened, as another wants the company to "Bring back cookie dough flavor!!"

Another, instead, seemingly trolled the brand, comically suggesting, "Where’s turkey gravy flavor"

Fans also called for the addition of more gluten-free flavors and new, "edgy" creations that "aren't mimics of previous ones."

Whichever side of the fence you're on regarding the new release, OREO'S Blackout Cake is available starting April 3 in stores nationwide, while supplies last!
