Oreo Releases Brand New 'Colorful' Flavor That's Full of Surprises
Oreo cookies and Sour Patch Kids candy
Oreo is fusing the tastes of cookies and candies for a surprising and delightful flavor with the launch of its newest addition.
The brand unveiled it is releasing a Sour Patch Kids offering, bringing forth all the colorful sour and sweet vibes of the popular candy item and meshing it into a crunchy cookie.
The two snack companies are teaming up for Oreo's "first-ever sour cookie," which on the outside, resembles a Golden Oreo—but don't be fooled, the taste differs in that it packs a punch with its sour sensation.
According to a press release shared directly with Parade, "the cookies are Sour Patch Kids flavored with colorful inclusions. The creme inside is filled with even more multi-colored sour sugar," which helps create a "sweet yet sour taste" inspired by the chewy gummy candy.
Additionally, in celebration of the "mischievous and unexpected pairing," the duo of brands will be dropping an exclusive merchandise collection including a matching crewneck and pair of joggers that together, making the perfect "snack suit."
Those interested should prepare to head to oreo.com on May 2, as the limited-edition items will only be available while supplies last—and unfortunately for Oreo's loyal fanbase, the same goes for the cookies.
Oreo Sour Patch Kids snacks will begin hitting store shelves nationwide on May 6, but are available for pre-sale starting Wednesday, April 24.
In other recent foodie news, the brand introduced a sweet treat to its growing lineup of products last month, frozen Oreo Mint Bars & Smandwiches, in addition to reviving one of its mystery flavors from 2019, Oreo Churro.
