Orphaned Cow Who Almost Didn't Make It Gets Loving Hugs From Rescuer

TikTok user @thegentlebarn, a farm animal sanctuary located in a few different states, recently shared the story of one of the animals they saved. Trust us on this one, you'll need to grab a tissue for this heartwarming video.
Meet Lewis. This precious cow was born on the floor of a slaughterhouse, but unfortunately, the birth took his mom and he couldn't get the colostrum he needed to build his immune system, The Gentle Barn said. He was battling pneumonia when the sanctuary rescued him. Now, two years later, he's as happy as can be. Take a look!

Aww! We can't stop shedding happy tears after watching this video. You can clearly see Lewis loves giving out giant hugs and getting snuggled, which is amazing after all that he's been through. He had such a tough beginning, but now he's at home at this California animal sanctuary, strong and healthy.
"Oh, the love in his eyes," wrote @andreaholamon. He'll forever be grateful for the love they showed him. @jamietaylor754 added, "I just love what your people do. We need more people like you and your crew in our world." Right?! They truly do incredible work on saving these animals. We wish no animal needed rescuing in the first place, but we sure are glad there are people like The Gentle Barn in this world.
The sanctuary commented, "Knowing everything it took to get him to this point, seeing Lewis healthy and thriving just feels so surreal sometimes." The entire sanctuary should pat themselves on the back for the incredible work they do for saving animals like Lewis and for giving them all the love.
