Oscar Nominees Are Here — And There Are Many Surprises on the List
It’s official — nominations for the 95th Academy Awards were announced Tuesday, January 24. Even though there's more than a month until The Oscars, we’ve already got our takes on the nominees. Yes, yes, it's an honor to be nominated ... but we all have opinions on who should win. Read on for the full list of Oscars nominees, and get your takes ready for the red carpet.
The Nominees
This year's ceremony will be one to watch. We appreciate the way Top Gun: Maverick has brought Tom Cruise back into the mainstream (thankfully for his talent this time, and not for some wacky media missteps like jumping on Oprah's couch). Elvis’s multiple nominations are made more poignant in the wake of Lisa Marie Presley’s recent passing. And while Angela Bassett deserves her nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, we wish Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wouldn’t have been snubbed for Best Picture. What are your thoughts on this year’s nominations? Grab your popcorn and scroll down for the full list.
