Austin North, the actor best known for his role as Topper Thornton in Outer Banks, was reportedly arrested earlier this week.

The 27-year-old TV star was arrested and booked for gross misdemeanor battery on Tuesday, Feb. 13, per a police report obtained by TMZ.

The filing explained that officers were dispatched to the University Medical Center for an assault and battery that is said to have occurred in the hospital's emergency room. According to the report, a pair of nurses and a phlebotomist claimed North hit and had shoved all three of them in succession. It's also purported that he attacked one other individual, but their relationship to the hospital is unclear.

North allegedly punched one nurse in the head, shoved a second and pushed the phlebotomist into a table, per the report. The phlebotomist is said to have defended themself with a nearby tray, which they struck the actor with.

According to law enforcement, when police arrived, North was already restrained by the hospital's security guards.

After he was handcuffed to the gurney, officers read him his Miranda rights and told him that they would be bringing him in on battery charges. When North was asked if he understood them, law enforcement officials claim the actor replied with a "yes."

TMZ reported that after the star was booked and had his mugshot taken, he was bonded out.

As for what led the actor to visit the hospital in the first place, North said he thought he was "having a heart attack" in an apologetic statement shared to his Instagram Story on Thursday, Feb. 15.

"I am deeply upset by the events that took place in Las Vegas this past week. My friend drove me to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. Several tests were taken, including blood, which came back negative for any drugs or alcohol in my system. I was having a severe anxiety attack."

"I have very little memory of the events that day at the hospital," North continued, "I have the utmost respect for healthcare workers and hospital staff."

"I have battled anxiety on and off for years and this was the most extreme panic attack I've ever had. Going forward, I hope to shed light on this debilitating disorder and send hope to those who have also struggled," he concluded.
