Outlander Actress Caitriona Balfe Just Teased Season 5's First Episode on Instagram
Outlander fans are currently in the midst of Droughtlander, the dreaded time period between the show's seasons. But fortunately, actress Caitriona Balfe is offering a respite by sharing sneak peeks of what's to come for Claire and Jamie on her Instagram account.
Today, for example, she posted a preview of season five's first episode, albeit a spoiler-free one.
"Mums the word on what’s inside .... but here it is Ep 1 Season ??5??," she wrote in the caption of the picture, which showed her holding up a copy of the script.

The official Outlander Instagram account then re-grammed her, adding "The start of production on Season 5 is so close we can almost taste it!" to her original words.
This isn't the first time Balfe has previewed next season on social media. Back in March, she shared a video from set, along with the caption: "And so it begins....... Season 5 (yep that’s 1, 2, 3, 4..FIVE ?? ) prep time !!!! Excuse the shrill shouting but I was very very excited to catch @jongarysteele on the incredible new set he and his team of genius artisans have built !!! Get READY!!"

At this point, it's unclear when season five will premiere, but executive producer Maril Davis has revealed that the writers are hard at work on the show's next chapter.
"We're already back in the writers' room ... We are already working on season five," she said at New York Comic Con in October of 2018. Hopefully it won't be too long until their work appears on the small screen.
