Sam Heughan hasn’t let the flack he received for one of his Instagram posts on March 11, keep him off social media. He’s back today with a post to celebrate reaching 4 million followers.
Commemorating the fete, he posted: “4 Million followers!!! Huge thank you to you all, so many exciting projects to share with you. This is going to be a ‘knockout’ year! X”
"Knockout" because the photo is a hot one of him boxing.

The actor received a lot of criticism from fans last week when he posted a photo on his social media of a new custom Triumph motorcycle in which he’d had input into the design. The mistake he made was also including a bottle of his Sassenach whisky as part of the celebration, leading fans to criticize him for indicating that it might be okay to drink and drive.
He later responded by adding a post script to the message: "Don’t drink and ride. Enjoy a dram after your ride!"

This is especially important for Heughan to clarify as one of his new projects for 2023 will be the release of a new spirit, a Scottish gin, Sassenach Gin, following up his successful whiskey, The Sassenach Whisky, and tequila, The Sassenach Select, bottlings.

First, there will be the return this summer of Outlander, the show that made him famous worldwide, for its penultimate season. Season 7 will be based on New York Times bestselling author Diana Gabaldon’s novels A Breath of Snow and Ashes (book 6) and An Echo in the Bone (book 7) as Season 7 has been supersized to 16 episodes as a result of the romantic, time travel epic drama's sixth season having been cut short due to COVID-19 and Caitríona Balfe's (Claire) pregnancy.

But first, this spring, he will also star in the upcoming rom-com co-starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Love Again, which has gone through several title changes, including Text for You, in theaters on May 12. It was originally titled, “It's All Coming Back to Me Now,” the title of one of Celine Dion's most iconic hit songs, who appears in the film.

Chopra Jonas stars as Mira Ray, a woman coping with the loss of her fiancé by sending a series of romantic texts to his old cellphone number, not realizing it was reassigned to journalist Rob Burns (Heughan). Rob becomes captivated by the texts. When he's assigned to write a profile of superstar Dion, playing herself, he enlists her help to figure out how to meet Mira.

And, of course, as he does each year, Heughan will be inspiring others to take part in the 2023 My Peak Challenge, which this year partners with the Ocean Conservancy to mobilize the thousands of MPC members to raise funds for the conservancy’s conservation efforts to save the oceans of the world. MPC is a global movement dedicated to educating and inspiring its members to live healthier, happier, and more balanced lives while raising funds to change lives. To date, MPC has raised almost $6 million to fund a variety of causes, including hunger relief, blood-cancer research, end-of-life care, and environmental protection efforts.
