Over the Top Food Trends Inspired this Restaurant’s “Halloween Costume”

Why let humans have all the dress up fun? This year, Chicago’s Real Kitchen decided to put on a costume of their own. Ordinarly the restaurant bills itself as “take-out for home cooking,” but this Halloween it’s going “that trendy new restaurant.”

Last year, Real Kitchen took on the Michelin three-starred Alinea, with this video. This year, they’ve decided to paint with a broader brush, going after all sorts of recent restaurant trends, including foraging and fancy ice.

In a culinary world that often finds ways to take itself way too seriously, it’s nice to see chefs approach things with a comedic touch. That’s a restaurant trend worth getting behind.
