The Ozarks is a little quieter without Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney). But despite being miles away from their money laundering operations, the two have yet again found themselves in another dangerous situation at arm’s length of Navarro (Felix Solis). Now, it’s finally time for Ozark fans to see what they decide to do next in the first part of season 4.

While it’s been almost two years since fans saw the shocking season 3 finale, time has not stopped for Marty and Wendy. As folks know, before arriving in Mexico, Marty had contemplated leaving the Ozarks, but Wendy convinced him that their family wouldn’t be safe anywhere, so they stayed put. Will the two only keep getting in deeper with the Mexican cartel or will they try to make a great escape?

Luckily, we only have to wait a short time to find out.

When is Ozark coming back for season 4?

Season 4 of Ozark is coming back to Netflix on Friday, January 21, 2022. The fourth and final installment of the crime drama will feature a total of 14 new episodes, which will be split into two different parts. In other words, seven episodes will be released first and then the other half will be available on the streamer at a later date. As of right now, Netflix has not announced a premiere date for part 2. But given that Ozark has only had 10 episodes for the previous three seasons, the additional four episodes will definitely be worth the wait.

"We're so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes' saga right," Ozark showrunner Chris Mundy said in a statement, per Entertainment Weekly. "It's been such a great adventure for all of us — both on screen and off — so we're thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible."

Fans have also been thrilled to find out the new season is almost here and that there are four extra episodes on the horizon. "Last season, but there will be a part 1 and part 2, so that’s good news," one fan wrote on YouTube. "Hand's down, my favorite Netflix series. This show has had me looking forward to season 4 for so long now," said another.

While another tried to put things into perspective for fans who aren't ready to say goodbye. "Hello fam, don't be sad about this is the final season. Actually this fourth and final season will premiere in two parts consisting of 7 episodes each."

Is Jason Bateman returning to Ozark as Marty?

Ozark began with financial advisor Marty Byrde getting on the bad side of the Mexican cartel. Since then, he has tried to navigate his way through a different kind of life for both himself and his family. And that journey continues. So, in short, yes, actor Jason Bateman will return to Ozark to play Marty for the show’s last season.

In honor of Ozark being renewed for season 4 in June 2020, Jason shared a few words to EW. “A super sized season means super sized problems for the Byrdes,” he told the outlet in a statement. “I’m excited to end with a bang(s).” But what could this mean?

In the final moments of season 3, Marty and Wendy were left stunned after Navarro took Helen (Janet McTeer) out of the picture with … well, a bang. A one-minute-long teaser reflects on all that has happened without giving anything away. A first look also offers a glimpse of what’s to come and it seems like they will be staying in Mexico for a little bit. In true Ozark fashion, more deaths are bound to happen, but will Marty and Wendy be next?
