Ozzy Osbourne Sends Scathing Message About Kanye West's Unauthorized Black Sabbath Sampling

Ozzy Osbourne sent a scathing message to Kanye West after the rapper allegedly used an unauthorized Black Sabbath sample on his new album—and The Prince of Darkness didn't mince words in his public bashing.

On Friday, Feb. 9—the same day West dropped his new album, Vultures—Osbourne took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the alleged sampling on West's track, “Talking / Once Again."

"@kanyewest ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF 'WAR PIG' FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY," he wrote in reference to West's new song.

Osbourne's message continued: "HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT. I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!"

Ozzy's wife, Sharon Osbourne, also sounded off against West's allegedly unauthorized sampling. In a statement to TMZ, the former The Talk co-host declared that "Kanye [F-bomb]ed with the wrong Jew this time." Sharon reportedly said Ozzy had a "special... occasion to say no," as she was raised Jewish. Furthermore, she referred to the rapper as a "disrespectful antisemite" who "represents hate."

Sharon seemingly referenced West's December 2022 comments praising Adolf Hitler. Later, West tweeted a swastika inside the Star of David, prompting his Twitter account to be suspended. A slew of celebrities condemned the rapper's actions at the time.

As of writing, West has not commented on the alleged sampling or Osbourne's remarks. Parade reached out to West's rep but did not immediately receive a response.
