My New Go-To Pair of Butt-Lifting Jeans Are From a Jennifer Garner-Worn Brand

They’re so comfy, they feel like leggings.
A few years ago I splurged on my first pair of Mother jeans, and I’ve been wearing the brand almost exclusively ever since. There are many reasons why the California cool-girl brand has amassed a serious celebrity following, which includes the likes of the Meghan Markle, Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde, and more; each pair is incredibly chic, comfortable, and manages to make even the flattest of butts (like mine) perk up.
Late in the winter I was in the market for a new pair of jeans when I noticed a style hanging from the racks at Nordstrom; I was immediately drawn to its silhouette, which had a skinny, long leg that flared into the perfect bootcut in an effortless fade of indigo. I didn’t buy them, but thought about them for weeks. Then, a few weeks later my best friend, another Mother devotee, sent me a link to the same pair. “You have to get these,” she said. “They would look great on you.” That was all I needed. I have been rocking the Mother The Runaway Bootcut Jean on repeat ever since.
Before I even go into why these jeans are high on my style radar, it’s important to note that they are just as comfy as a pair of leggings. Because if you are like me, a work-from-home mother-of-two, you wouldn’t be able to last an hour in rigid denim. The blend of 81 percent cotton makes them stretchy enough for hours upon hours of wear, but still crisp enough to pass as a going out pair of pants.
There’s something about the flare on these that really makes them a standout style. Obviously, flared denim has made a big comeback, but I’ve found options to be either A) too flared, verging on bell bottom or B) flared throughout the whole leg, which isn’t necessarily flattering for a lot of people. I am a sucker for a skinny leg, so I love how these hug onto thighs and then slowly start their expansion into flare-dom below the knee. I also appreciate the high rise fit, which manages to be comfortable due to the aforementioned material yet offer enough compression to smooth and flatten your stomach.
And for any ladies with long legs (I’m close to 5-foot-10 myself) these babies are long, with a 35.5-inch inseam. I can wear them with heels or boots, but also go for a slouchier look with sneakers or sandals. While they are truly versatile with their true indigo hue, my favorite top to pair them with is a simple, white fitted Hanes T-shirt.
While they are a splurge at $248, I am so incredibly obsessed that I am even considering buying the frayed version, which comes in lighter wash with a distressed knee — perfect for summer. Below, shop more popular Mother Denim jeans.
