The Palace Bans Meghan Markle’s Fave Jewelry Designer From Using Her Pics on Instagram
Buckingham Palace has reportedly banned Meghan Markle’s favorite jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer from using her photos on Instagram.
Jennifer has seemingly removed all her Instagram posts of the duchess, although at least one still appears on her site.
Today in awkward royal family news, Meghan Markle’s favorite jewelry designer has reportedly been told she can no longer use the duchess’s image to promote her business. According to Daily Mail, Buckingham Palace “officials” have told popular celebrity designer Jennifer Meyer to delete Instagram photos of Meghan wearing her designs, which are apparently in breach of her nondisclosure agreement (NDA).
A source told the Daily Mirror that “Jennifer Meyer has been told to remove the images and in no uncertain terms how damaging this could be for Meghan and the Royal Family.”
A quick scroll through Jennifer Meyer’s Instagram does seem to imply photos of the duchess have been removed, but there’s at least one still live on her website, JenniferMeyer.com:
It’s pretty standard for designers to post Instagram photos of celebrities wearing their products—and Jennifer’s Instagram features a ton of other celebs, from Jennifer Aniston to Chrissy Teigen. It’s unclear why Buckingham Palace wanted these photos of Meghan to be removed—especially since they’re from public events with active press pools—but (just speculating here!) it likely has something to do with the royals not wanting it to seem like Meghan is in any way sponsoring a brand. ˉ\_(ツ)_/ˉ
