Outspoken animal-rights activist and environmentalist Pamela Anderson announced on Tuesday that she’s working on a line of faux fur coats, and she’d love to gift one of the first finished products to another former model: the nation’s new FLOTUS, Melania Trump, according to the Hill.

“I’m going to send her one of my Russian eco-fur coats as a gift because I’m designing furs in Russia right now,” Anderson told the publication while attending the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) Inaugural Ball in Washington. Anderson didn’t elaborate on which designer is involved in the collaboration, but it’s not surprising that she’d take this route: She’s been known to rock a fake fur like nobody’s business and has even garnered accolades from Vogue for demonstrating that vegan-friendly attire can be the ultimate in luxury.

Anderson is particularly focused on Trump, though, as she claims the Slovenian-born first lady’s favorite designer is Marc Bouwer (“as far as I’ve heard”), who makes chic vegan apparel, including faux fur and leather. Trump has indeed been spotted in Bouwer’s designs at events including the 2012 Met Gala, and attended the Marc Bouwer/PETA Fall/Winter 2002 Collection show on Feb. 14, 2002.

Although Anderson told the hosts of The View during the presidential campaign that “the best thing we can do for the world is stop talking about Donald Trump,” she seems to be making peace with the fact that he’s actually our president. “I just want him to know that there are people that wish him well, and wish him success, and to find success inside the presidency,” Anderson told the Hill. “And I wish his family the best, and hope that he can really think about conservation and about the environment. That’s what I’m most concerned about.” (Something tells us President Trump won’t be on board with that conversation.)

Anderson might have an underlying motivation for her generous gesture, though. Melania Trump has been known to frequently wear real fur — for instance, to the Dennis Basso Fur Store opening and a Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Event, to name just two. And first daughter Ivanka Trump even sells coats with authentic fur trim through her eponymous fashion brand. Could it be that Anderson is politely attempting to influence the Trump women to keep real fur out of the White House — and the spotlight? If so, she’s doing it in the most graceful way possible.
