Papa Johns Bakes Up a New Twix-Inspired Dessert
Papa John's
Calling all Twix lovers!
Papa Johns teamed up with the beloved chocolate brand to create a new dessert: the Twix Papa Bites. The treat consists of pizza dough stuffed with cheesecake filling and Twix bars "cut into eight bite-sized pieces, then baked fresh with a cup of caramel for dipping or drizzling."
Rewards members had the chance to try them out starting on Oct. 16, but all customers will have the opportunity to order them starting on Monday, Oct. 23. The snack costs $4.99. As you might expect from the decadent dessert, this treat isn't for those who are diet-conscious. Each piece is 80 calories, making it 640 calories in total for the whole order.
The Twix Papa Bites join the other sweet and savory options from the pizza chain's Bites menu, which includes the Oreo Cookie Papa Bites, Jalape?o Papa Bites, and Chicken Parmesan Papa Bites.
A Papa Johns fan gave their review on the restaurant chain's subreddit, remarking that the Twix Papa Bites are preferable over fan-favorite Oreo Cookie Papa Bites.
"These are actually really good. Unlike the Oreo bites, the Twix candy is actually crunchy and the caramel sauce basically is all the flavor but I like that. Way better than eating Oreo bites and not tasting any Oreo and having to eat straight up icing with dough. This is a 9/10. Great job Papa John's!," they wrote.
Another person noted in the comments, "The dough taste is less prominent than the Oreo bites, not sure if it’s because of the caramel drizzle instead of the icing drizzle, or if it’s just a combo of the Twix and caramel but imo they're very good."
