Parents' 20th Birthday Celebration for Their Cat Is Giving People the Feels
Even though some very lucky cats have lived to be almost thirty years old, the average lifespan of a cat is between 12-18 years. That's why this video posted on August 31 of some sweet parents celebrating their cat's 20th birthday is so special.

The TikTok account for @Leahkahan posted the sweet clip which shows Mattie enjoying some flaked tuna and whipped cream. Senior cats are just the best. These parents are pretty wonderful too.
TikTok users are so charmed by this sweet celebration and @Mick comments, Awww! She looks great for her age! Happy birthday Mattie!" @Elizabeth adds, "I am so doing this for my own cat this month who is turning 15 years old." @April adds, "My cats are 16 year old sisters. I need to do this for all of their birthdays from here on out!"
It's just so sweet how the parents sing to Mattie too! They seem like truly lovely people.
The oldest cat on record was named Creme Puff, and they lived to be a staggering 38 years old! Indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats, with their average life expectancy roughly half that of an indoor cat. This is due to predators, being hit by cars, and diseases they can contract from other wildlife.
If you want to be sure your cat lives a very long life, keep them inside unless they are outside under your supervision.
