Park City Opens Jupiter Lift To Expand Expert Terrain
Utah's Park City issued a terrain alert yesterday, writing that the iconic two-seater "Jupiter Lift is now OPEN with access to over 250 acres of expert terrain including Scott's Bowl."
Jupiter services the top of the mountain, and all of the trails are double blacks.
Notice Jupiter importantly services Scott's Bowl, which has a tumultuous history of ownership from the mountain (and openness to skiers)!
In 2018, Park City Mountain Resort lost the lease to the Scotts Bowl after the owner of the land, Silver King Mining Company, did not renew the agreement.
To access Scotts Bowl from Jupiter, there is a little hike once you unload, but it's well worth it.
Officials of Park City noted the hike, saying, "if you like to earn your turns, you'll be treated to some of our favorite views of the Wasatch."
What do they call boot packing in the resort? Type 2 fun?
No, there's Type 1 fun to be had all over Jupiter's section of Park City, just look at some of those lines a quick walk up to the top!
With the upcoming storms washing across America to boot, this could be the start of some excellent skiing in the next two weeks for those in Utah.
There could even be a couple more inches today. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 72% chance of getting over an inch, and a 36% chance of seeing more than two inches.
It may not sound like much, but every bit counts, and more terrain plus any amount of new snow equals a ton of fun.
