Paul Reubens' Cause of Death Confirmed One Month After His Passing

New details have come to light regarding the death of beloved actor and comedian Paul Reubens.

Reubens, famous for his character Pee-Wee Herman, died on July 30 at the age of 70. Now, over a month later, his official death certificate has revealed what exactly caused his death.

The actor is reported to have died of "acute hypoxic respiratory failure," which was most likely a complication from his battle with cancer, according to The Blast.

Reubens had been battling two different types of cancer, but his death certificate lists his primary cause of death as "acute myelogenous leukemia," a form of blood cancer that also affects bone marrow. In the months before his death, Reubens was also fighting metastatic lung cancer.
