Paul Rudd Shares the Secrets to His Youthful Appearance
Find out the everyday regimen that keeps the 'Ant-Man' actor seemingly ageless.
Paul Rudd is filling us in on the tips and tricks behind his ever-youthful looks.
The Ant-Man actor, who seems to defy age, recently opened up about the health and wellness practices that keep him looking young and incredibly fit—but there's one habit in particular that he believes is the most beneficial.
While interviewing with Men's Health, Rudd, 53, spilled the tea on the most critical part of his everyday routine: getting enough sleep.
"The most important part of training is sleep," he stated. "People will set their alarm and then sleep for four hours and they'll get up so that they can train. They're doing themselves a disservice."
"If you can somehow get eight hours of sleep..." Rudd adds, without finishing the thought, although we can assume he means getting sufficient sleep is a major key to keeping that youthful glow.

Rudd also shared what his everyday morning routine looks like, explaining, "I get up and I have a cup of coffee, and then I do cardio before I eat anything. I never would've done that before [Ant-Man]."
He continued, "I lift weights, hopefully at least three times a week. And I've learned so much about how my body reacts to foods, how it reacts to exercise, and where I'm happiest and how it affects me mentally."
"If I'm in this [Ant-Man] suit, running around playing a character who's supposed to be a superhero, I just feel better. And I feel less like an imposter," he added.
As for his diet, Rudd eats eggs every day, along with a lot of salmon and protein shakes that are just water and protein—no fruit—according to the publication.
"It sounds like hell. It's really not. I find routine comforting," he admitted. "There isn't an office that we have to go to every day where we see the same people and do the same kind of job. Routine is a human need. It's grounding in a really positive and healthy way."
Rudd—who stars in the Ant-Man film Quantumania—revealed that he "worked really hard" to get in shape for the new movie, though he found it more difficult than getting in shape for past Marvel films.

"I had fallen off more than I had in the past. All of a sudden my clothes fit tight. And I thought, 'God, this sucks. I can’t even wear these pants.' So I’d say to myself, 'Well, I might as well just eat some of these cookies.' I was irritable and self-conscious. I just wasn’t in a good mood. I really beat myself up.”
But Rudd clearly has been doing something right, as he was named the latest Men's Health cover star. He was also crowned PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive in 2021.
As for seeing what everyone else sees, Rudd insisted that his agelessness isn't as apparent to him. "I see some things that people are politely not acknowledging."
However, he noted, "I'm certainly happy that people don’t say the opposite. Like, God, he looks a hundred years old!"
Luckily for him, it's unlikely that anyone will ever say that about Rudd.
