Paul Walker’s Brother Names Son After Late ‘Fast & Furious’ Actor
This November, it will be a decade since the death of actor Paul Walker and his younger brother Cody Walker is bringing new life to his name by passing it on to his newborn son.
Cody, whose wife Felicia gave birth on April 30, announced their baby boy would be named Paul Barrett "Bear" Walker.
The 34-year-old shared the news with People, saying, "This November will mark 10 years since we lost my brother, Paul, and I just felt now was the appropriate time. My brother, Caleb, and I are both done having children. My brother, Paul, was Paul William Walker IV and that name goes back four generations."
"Within the family, he went by ‘little Paul’ or ‘Paul 4,’ even though he quickly outgrew our father in height. It was important to me to have that name carry on," he added.
Cody and Felicia also share a 5-year-old daughter named Remi and a 2-year-old son named Colt. They waited until the birth to find out the sex of each of their children, leaving their decision to pick a name until the end.
The name is a great honor for the family and the memory of Paul, who passed away in 2013 in a car accident at the age of 40.
The actor is most well-known for playing Brian O'Conner in the Fast & Furious film franchise, beginning with the first movie in 2001. He also starred in films like Pleasantville, She's All That, Varsity Blues, Flags of Our Fathers, and more throughout his notable career.
The Fast & Furious film franchise continues, with the most recent movie, Fast X, coming out on May 19, and Paul's daughter, Meadow Walker, even had a cameo in the movie in honor of her late father.
