This Peach Julep-Meets-Slushy is The Frozen Drink We All Need

July marks the start of peach season. It's a month synonymous with hot days and endless barbecues. In order to beat the heat and wow guests, Michael Fawthrop, beverage director at Noyane in Chicago, is sharing his recipe for the 'Fo Swizzle:' think adult dippin' dots, a peach julep and slushy mash-up.

The cocktail is made with flavored "snow" instead of crushed ice to make sure it tastes better as it begins to melt. This boozy treat turns two childhood favorites into a grown-up cosmopolitan julep. Here's how you can make it at home. Fo Swizzle Prep: 10 minutes Cook: 15 minutes Total time: 25 minutes Ingredients For the cocktail: 1.5 oz Suntory Toki Whiskey 1 Barspoon Ginger Syrup (1 part sugar, 1 part ginger juice) 1 Dash Absinthe 3/4 oz water For the dippin' dots: Peach ice cream or yogurt Plastic sandwich bag Small piping tip Garnish mint leaves To make peach dippin dots: Hand-pipe peach ice cream or yogurt onto two cookie sheets. Use a plastic sandwich bag and a small piping tip to create the dots, then freeze to set. Complete instructions here.

To make cocktail: In a rocks glass, scoop a large spoonful of the dippin' dots mix as a base and add the whiskey. Swizzle to mix. Layer another large scoop of the dippin' dots and the ginger syrup. Swizzle to mix. Add another large scoop of dippin dots and this time, add in the Absinthe and water. Swizzle to mix. Repeat the process until full. Garnish with the sprig of mint.
