The New Peeps Cereal From Kellogg’s Is Filled With Chick-Shaped Marshmallows
In January 2019, Kellogg’s got a head start on Easter by introducing a Peeps cereal. Well, it’s good to know that nothing has changed in 2020, because Kellogg’s is already hopping into spring with an updated and — in our opinion — better version of it.
The original cereal consisted of blue, pink, and yellow marshmallow-flavored rings with white mini marshmallows. Cute! Festive! But not as good as they could have been. We probably weren’t the only ones wondering why they didn’t make the marshmallows in the shape of Peeps. It just makes sense, you know? Good news for anyone thinking the same!
The new version of Peeps cereal features those same blue, pink, and yellow marshmallow-flavored rings, but these look even more bright and vibrant. The marshmallows are also blue, pink, and yellow, and are in the shapes of chicks and bunnies — just like actual Peeps! Now we have to see how the taste compares.
Instagram users under @candyhunting’s photo are pretty excited about the shapes. “Much cuter,” wrote one. “Nice!! I actually really like this cereal and this look like a solid upgrade,” wrote another.
Just to make sure you didn’t skim across this fact, the cereal rings are marshmallow-flavored and there are Peeps-shaped marshmallows mixed in. So this cereal is for those who were over the moon about that toasted marshmallow whipped cream and that 8-pound bag of marshmallow-only cereal.
