A disturbing video shows the attempted kidnapping of a dog by an Amazon driver in Henry Country, Georgia. Thankfully, the dog's owner Terrika Currence was there to stop the driver. And now video of their confrontation has gone viral online.

Speaking with WSB-TV, the mom said that the driver dropped off a package before trying to take off with the pup.

The mom, who owns a skincare company called Beyond Skin Deep, recalled the horrifying incident to the news outlet.

“As I open the door to put the package in the house, and the dog food, my daughter screams and says, ‘The Amazon guy stole our puppy,’” she told WSB-TV.

The mom said she then dropped the packages she'd received and immediately went over to confront the driver.

In a clip that was later shared online, the mom can be heard yelling at the driver who was trying to make their getaway.

The clip shows the mom opening up the truck's doors and yelling at the driver.

"As soon as I opened the truck, he has the puppy inside of a bin. I had to grab the puppy and get him off the truck," she recalled. "He was ready to pull off with our dog," she added.

The mom said that the driver never apologized nor did explain his actions.

Currence said she called police to report what happened, but the man has yet to face any charges.

How to Keep Your Dog Safe From Theft

The idea of your dog getting stolen is horrifying, but there are ways to keep your pup safe. Thieves have been participating in dog flipping — a process where a thief will take the dog from a person's home, a shelter, or will claim to be a lost dog's owner with the intention of selling the dog for profit.

The best way to prevent dog theft is to never leave your dog unattended. Even if you're used to bringing them along for a quick trip to the grocery store, leaving your pup in the car is still risky. If you're used to keeping your dog in the backyard, make sure it's not accessible to neighbors or strangers. Dognappers have their tricks to lure dogs away, even when they're at home. Make sure to always keep your dogs on a leash when out for a walk for this same reason too.

Another important step to take is to make sure your dog is microchipped. It's also probably best not to mention where you and your pup live when meeting a new person. This goes ditto for any places that your dog goes to often or how much you paid for your dog. Remember, dognappers are looking for high-value dogs that will get them a high price when they resell the animals. So a potential dognapper will know to pay attention to these key details so they can get close to your pup.

As for Currence, WSB-TV reached out to Amazon about the incident, to which they said the driver has since been fired.

"It gives me relief that he’s fired but if he’s doing things like that, I’m sure, you know it’s in his character," Currence said. "He’ll do it again."

As of this reporting, police are looking into the matter.
