Yesterday, Reddit user u/ryuundo asked the AskReddit community: "What is your most unpopular musical opinion?"

Bravo

The thread quickly went viral as thousands of people shared their unpopular opinions that ranged everything from popular bands they don't like to what they think of music snobs. Here are some of the top-voted and best comments:

1."Adele is incredible. Her songs are blah."

"Agreed. Another example of this IMO is Ariana Grande. Great voice, can’t stand her music."

"Yes!! She's incredible! Not interested in her music at all."

2."Popular music can, in fact, be good."

"The Weeknd is a prime example of that for me. Dude brought the '80s vibe back with a modern sound."

"Carly Rae Jepsen is an example of this. Emotion is perfection."

3."Billie Eilish, while a good singer, just isn't my style. I can respect her, but the music is just whack. I like me some out-there music, but her stuff is just...not it for me. Maybe she'll be like Justin Bieber or Demi Lovato for me, where there's a certain twilight in her discography that I will enjoy, like 'Sorry' or 'Sorry Not Sorry'; maybe she needs a song with 'sorry' in the title?"

4."Adding riffs and runs into every vocal line of a song does not make the song better. Occasional, well-placed riffs are great, but when the lyrics become borderline incoherent because the singer is too busy trying to run up and down the scale as fast as possible, then maybe it's time to tone it down."

5."Michael Jackson's Off the Wall is better than Thriller."

"Off the Wall is still generally considered a great album. If you really want to be controversial...a lot of Michael's songs from the mid-'90s and early '00s were better than what he made during the '80s!"

6."The '90s era is overrated. The music wasn't actually that impressive; you're just longing for the times when you were young, your life was still ahead of you, and you didn't have a care in the world."

"Also, right now is the BEST time for music; there's so much great music being created that it's 100% impossible to listen to it all. Plus, we have vinyl, cassettes, FLAC, WAV, and MP3, not to mention all of the streaming services."

7."Vocal range is a useless measurement when determining who the best singers are. If said singer can’t make you feel something, then what’s the point?"

8."The Foo Fighters are boring radio-friendly rock. Yes, I know that Dave Grohl is a pretty stand-up dude in real life, and I can appreciate that they seem to really give it 100% for their live shows, but I just can't seem to actually enjoy any of their music."

9."Pink Floyd is noise garbage."

10."I don't care if an artist fits into the correct category (i.e., Green Day isn't real punk). Good rock music is just good rock. Shut up about what it is or isn't and listen or don't."

11."'Sweet Caroline,' 'Don’t Stop Believin',' and 'In the Air Tonight' don’t need to be played literally everywhere."

12."Silence is fine. I don't usually play music when I am driving, and this seems to freak people out."

13."Axl Rose (from Guns N' Roses) has the worst voice I've ever heard. I can listen to plenty of '80s rock, but as soon as I hear that man's voice I can't help but be irritated."

14."The Beatles are a pop band who made bad music and only sound good in the context of them being one of the first pop bands."

15."You can like older music without being a snob, contrarian, or member of 'Le Wrong Generation.' The older I get, the more annoying it is to hear anyone shit on something they never listen to while crying that they were born in the wrong era."

16."Nirvana is the most overrated band of all time. I really can't stand any of their music. It was edgy and weird when they first became popular, so there was an interest in it and it became popular. Nirvana should be remembered as a source for the movement for grunge music, but is it good? No. It is bad now and always has been. We don't need it around 30 years later."

"Seriously. All the Right Reasons is a no-skip album."

18."I'm tired of hearing/singing along to 'Bohemian Rhapsody.' It's a great song, but I've heard it enough times."

"Queen had 15 better songs."

And lastly...

19."The music in Encanto was just OK, and Frozen's is better."
