File this news under things we weren’t expecting to find out today. A new beverage is here, thanks to Pepsi, and it’s completely unique. In a collaboration with IHOP, Pepsi is releasing Maple Syrup Cola. Yes, you read that correctly.

This soda is unlike any soda that you’re used to. It has the indulgent flavor profile of maple syrup, so you can expect crisp notes of caramel combined with cola. Right off the bat, you may be thinking that this will be one super sweet drink. After all, sugary soda and maple syrup? However, we’re hoping there’s a balance of flavors so that it’s oddly satisfying and breakfast-worthy.

To get your hands on the Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola, you’ll have to enter a sweepstakes. Starting on March 24, post a photo or video of your stack(s) of pancakes on Instagram or Twitter, tagging #ShowUsYourStack, #PepsiSweepstakes, and @IHOP. Your opportunity ends on March 29, and a total of 2,000 lucky winners will receive a 12-ounce can of one of the most unique sodas out there.

“There is truly nothing quite like the indulgent taste of Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola — sweet maple syrup blended with the refreshing taste of Pepsi cola. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with IHOP on this special initiative, as it isn’t often we get to bring together two iconic brands to satisfy the cravings of pancake and Pepsi lovers alike,” Todd Kaplan, chief marketing officer, Pepsi, said in a press release. “We can’t wait to celebrate those who have an unapologetic love of pancakes by giving the limited-edition cans to 2,000 fans who #ShowUsYourStack online.”

Pepsi is no stranger to, uh, interesting flavors. In October 2021, the brand partnered with Cracker Jack for a blend of caramel, popcorn, and peanut flavors. Before that, Pepsi also created a soda with Peeps, and released hot cocoa- and apple pie-inspired sips as well. Just add this maple syrup cola to the list!
