A meteorologist was too 'chicken' to wear the viral curve-hugging dress — until now
Everyone has that one outfit in their closet that never gets worn. On Wednesday, meteorologist Sue Serio from Fox 29 in Philadelphia, Penn. actually put hers on.
Serio shared on Facebook that she’s “late to the party” in debuting her dress. “This dress had been sitting in my closet. I bought it 2 years ago, when I saw the photo of a bunch of female meteorologists wearing the same dress,” she wrote. “It was being called ‘the perfect dress for every figure.’ Still, I was too chicken to actually wear it. Until today. When I found it in the back of the rack and said, ‘what the heck.'”
“When I bought the dress, I liked it, but was a bit self conscious because it’s so curve-hugging,” Serio tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I hung it in the closet and would consider it every now and again.”
But she finally decided to put her insecurities aside and wear it anyway. “Not sure why, really, but today I put it on and said ‘What the heck. I’m wearing it,'” she says.
TOO funny! Thx @JenMyersFox4 for the collage of all the women who bought "the dress!" #sisterhoodoftravelingdress pic.twitter.com/iSyJFESYpp

Serio has received hundreds of likes and dozens of supportive comments since sharing her story Wednesday morning. Her post compiles a photo of her wearing own royal blue dress with those of at least 20 other TV reporters decked out in the same frock. “You wore it the Best!!” wrote one fan. “So glad you wore it. I loved it on you this morning!” wrote another.
With its simple colorblock design and 3/4 sleeves, it makes sense that professional-yet-stylish women would opt for this look. The dress is still available on Amazon for as low as $23 and comes in a whopping 13 colors. It even has reviews from newswomen around the country: “I work on TV, so I am always looking for good quality dresses at an affordable price. This is definitely in my top 10 now!! The material is a nice thickness for fall/winter but could be worn in any season. I got the blue, red, pink and purple and all of the colors are true to the picture.”
As for Serio, the dress may have earned a spot in her regulation rotation. “It was called, ‘The dress that looks good on every body,'” she says. “I think that might be true.”
