Pete Davidson Briefly Addressed Ariana Grande and Their Breakup During SNL
Pete Davidson made a very brief remark about Ariana Grande on Saturday Night Live tonight during his first episode back since their split last month. But it wasn't a comedy sketch or any skit; it was serious and candid. During the close of his segment on Weekend Update, Davidson explained precisely why he wouldn't be joking about Grande that night.
"And the last thing I will say is I know some of you are curious about the breakup, but the truth is it’s nobody’s business," he started. "And sometimes things just don’t work out, and that’s okay. She’s a wonderful, strong person, and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world. Now please, go vote on Tuesday."

Davidson's remark comes less than two hours after Grande released her own thank you track to him and all her other boyfriends, "Thank U, Next." Of Davidson, Grande sang, "Even almost got married/And for Pete, I'm so thankful."
It's a 180 from both of their remarks about each other earlier this week. Then, Davidson joked about his and Grande's breakup in the SNL promo, and Grande not-so subtly called him out on Twitter for it (though she later deleted it).
