There’s rarely a day when Pete Davidson doesn’t make headlines for his romantic conquests or his oddball behavior. Just when you thought there was nothing left to report about Saturday Night Live star, Davidson appeared courtside at Monday night’s Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls game proudly flaunting a sassy red nail color on both of his hands.

Are you shocked? Probably not. Ever since Davidson became the face of BDE (Big Dick Energy) after Ariana Grande shared the size of her then boyfriend’s man meat, he’s been seen sporting sleazy fashions and rocking different hair colors without a care in the world. Interestingly enough, there’s a red Essie nail polish color called “Size Matters” and now we question if this is just a coincidence.

How do we think his girlfriend Kate Beckinsale feels about the bold nail? We live in a increasingly progressive society where men can apply makeup to hide under eye bags and cover skin imperfections, but there’s plenty of men out there who think wearing a feminine nail color might get them dumped before a second date. And what about wearing an ‘80s hair scrunchie like Jason Momoa or a printed headband like Justin Bieber? It seems as though the traditional grooming and men’s beauty rules don’t apply to guys who are chock-full of BDE. To figure this out, we asked editors at both Men’s Health and Women’s Health to weigh on how they feel about these men’s beauty flexes.

“I think it’s HOT,” said Men’s Health Deputy Editor Jordyn Taylor.

“Totally, if he has the confidence to wear polish or a hair accessory, he has confidence in everything else,” agreed Women’s Health Beauty Editor Maddie Aberman. “Confidence = sexy.”

True confidence and a little charm goes a long way when it comes to impressing a date, but how far can men go when it comes to out-of-the-norm grooming? While most of the team agreed that pedicures are a major plus for men, most said no to painted toe nails. Also, it was recommended that men should avoid any additional beauty routines that take too much time away from their relationship.

While the do’s and don’ts of men’s grooming can be debated, when it comes to peacocking with your grooming, do what feels natural and authentic to your personality.

"I think it's about doing it because you're curious about it, not for effect,” said Men’s Health Health Director Marty Munson.

If you’re debating trying out red Corvette-colored nails, then take the nail polish for a test drive. Thinking about sporting a scrunchie? Don’t feel tied-down by masculine norms-you do you. If your date isn’t impressed by your bold moves, you could always just brag about your penis size-kidding, seriously, don’t do that.
