Pete Davidson Is Here to Steal Hearts In Time Traveling Rom-Com
The 'Meet Cute' trailer is officially here!
Pete Davidson and Kaley Cuoco play love interests in Peacock's upcoming romantic comedy, Meet Cute!
The first trailer for the long-awaited rom-com was finally released on Thursday, Sept. 8, and it puts Davidson right in the spot of leading man.
The film is set in New York City and follows the blossoming love story between Cuoco and Davidson's Sheila and Gary, respectively. They fall in love the first night they meet, but it turns out their meeting wasn't exactly fate.
According to the film's logline, “Sheila’s got a time machine, and they’ve been falling in love over and over again. But when the perfect night is never quite enough, Sheila travels to Gary’s past to change him into the perfect man.”
“If I had a time machine right now I’d be torn. Do I skip ahead to our release date or do I go back and relive the joy it was making this film? Lucky for me it’s a decision I don’t get to make,” director Alex Lehmann said in a statement, adding "I’m excited for audiences to get swept away on this wild romantic ride exclusively on Peacock.”
Back in August of 2021, Cuoco took to her Instagram to announce that filming for the movie has officially wrapped. In the photo, Cuoco and Davidson sat alongside a river, looking out at the Brooklyn Bridge. The actor rested his head on her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around him.
"That’s a wrap on ‘Meet Cute’ !! 💫 What an experience! Loved every single human involved with this special little gem of a of film..💫" she wrote in the caption. "Would do it over and over and over again 😉 (get it? It’s a time travel joke lol) see the movie and you will understand ⏰ 🧳 ✈️"
