Photographers: here’s how you could win $500 with a photo of Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Photographers could win $500 by just taking a photo of Mobile. It’s part of a contest to capture Alabama’s 10 largest cities.

According to a Facebook post shared by Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, the City Life Photo Contest is back again this year.

The contest, which opened on July 1, allows photographers to highlight the state by submitting their best photo of one of Alabama’s largest cities.

Below are the details of the contest:

  • Entry period: July 1 through Sept. 2 at 11:59 p.m. CST

  • Voting period: July 1 through Sept. 8 at 11:59 p.m. CST

  • All entries must be submitted via Facebook messenger to the Alabama Big 10 Mayors Page.

  • Past winners are not eligible for entry.

  • Entries must be taken in one of Alabama’s 10 largest cities: Auburn, Birmingham, Decatur, Dothan, Hoover, Huntsville, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, or Tuscaloosa

  • Photos must be taken by the individual submitting it into the contest

  • Only one entry per person is allowed

  • Voting will take place on the Alabama Big 10 Mayors Facebook page. The entry with the most likes on Facebook will be announced once voting is concluded

“Have Fun! This is a friendly competition to highlight the state we all love,” the post said. “Please refrain from any disrespectful speech about other submissions, the cities or the mayors.

“Any contestant found to be disrespectful may be disqualified from the contest.”
