City living has its place, and there are benefits of being able to get food delivered pretty much around the clock and access to a variety of job opportunities, museums, and more. But all that hustle and bustle can get to be a lot, and after a year of quarantine and social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have decided to avoid that non-stop lifestyle and embrace the beauty of small towns. The slower pace of small-town life has never appealed more than it does now.

You've got everything from good neighbors to adorable main streets with sweet local shopping to quaint festivals to really pretty open landscapes with every outdoor activity you could imagine. Locations like Telluride, Colorado, Saratoga Springs, New York, and Boothbay Harbor, Maine, are just a few towns that leave a big impression, but there are so many more places in the United States that give off that Stars Hollow or Virgin River kinda vibe. There's just something kind of magical about the small town lifestyle that instantly makes people feel more relaxed and at home. We've found 18 photos that really capture the quirks that make small town living so wonderful.
