Ree Drummond revealed a heart-breaking loss, and our hearts go out to The Food Network Star and her family. The Pioneer Woman is an avid animal lover, and she had to say goodbye to her beloved dog, Walter.

Walter was one of four Basset hounds on the Drummond Ranch. The Food Network star has a life-long affinity for the breed: She got her first when she was just 3 years old and has even written a series of books about her beloved dog Charlie, who passed away in 2017.

Ree shared the news with her fans on Instagram, along with a gallery of sweet Walter photos. She wrote, "Goodbye, sweet wonderful Walter. I’m going to bed early so I can turn off these tears and instead dream sweet memories of you, the most loving loyal pure-hearted doggie our family has ever known. Go find your brother Charlie and have some fun, ol’ boy.??????????."

Ree's friends, family, and fans rushed to leave her messages of support. Her daughter Paige wrote, "The best, most loving and loyal dog there ever was. ?? sweet sweet Walter, he’s howling at turtles with Charlie now ??." Daugter Alex commented, "Oh Walt. ?? These pics melt my heart. Most loving dog to ever exist." And son Bryce said, "the best to ever do it."
Trisha Yearwood wrote, "Sending you all the love, my friend. Love walks on four paws. ?? ??."

In happier news, Ree and her family recently welcomed a new pup, Shelby, to their family. We can't think of a better home for Shelby thank with Ree and her beautiful family.
