Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Reveals a Typical Date Night With Ladd
Pioneering date nights too. Food Network star Ree Drummond, best known for her beloved Pioneer Woman empire, revealed this week that a typical date night with her husband, Ladd Drummond, is quite relatable and sweet–even after 21 years of marriage.
“We’re going to sound so old when I say this,” Drummond told Us Weekly. “But it’s going to Tulsa and having a big steak dinner and beautiful wine and dessert. Then we almost have to be carted home!”
The Pawhuska, Oklahoma-based food personality said there are other days when they simply enjoy the local area. “Sometimes we go for drives,” she said. “Usually we either listen to country music or ESPN radio—some kind of football analysis going on that I turn way down, because it’s killing my vibe.”

On nights at home, Drummond does, in fact, do the cooking. “I hate to be clichéd, but it’s usually steak,” she added. “I’ll do a mushroom wine sauce for me. Twice-baked potatoes are his kryptonite. Then some dessert in the form of warm chocolate cake or brownies with ice cream and all that good stuff.”
The bestselling author and popular blogger most recently opened a boarding house in her town. “‘Hotel’ just doesn’t seem like the right description,” she recently wrote on her blog. The personality added to Us that she specifically felt it was the right choice to build the property locally.
“It actually sort of feels like the movie Field of Dreams,” she continued. “At the very least Ladd and I are excited to go have some dates there! We can do a little staycation situation, just check in for a night and be with ourselves.”
The couple recently celebrated 21 years of marriage last month. They share four kids, Paige, Bryce, Alex, and Todd.
