The Pioneer Woman’s Super Simple Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Is a Great Cheesecake Alternative

2 min read

If you’re someone who always goes for a slice of creamy cheesecake or custardy pie from the dessert menu, then you’ll love Ree Drummond’s Peanut Butter Pie recipe — especially if you live and breathe peanut butter. In fact, Drummond warns you on her blog, “If you don’t like peanut butter, step away from this pie recipe. I’m serious, man.” This recipe is super easy to make, comes together in minutes, and will leave everyone at the table ultra-satisfied.

To make the Pioneer Woman’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, you first have to assemble the crust, which is made with finely crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreo, Hydrox, or your favorite store-brand cookie will work great) and a bit of butter.

“Don’t worry about the cream filling because it totally disappears and becomes part of the crumbs,” Drummond says in the below video.

After pressing the crumb crust into your pie pan, bake it in the oven for a few minutes to set it and get it ready for that peanut buttery cream filling.

In your stand mixer, combine your favorite creamy peanut butter, a block of softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and non-dairy whipped topping.

“You’ll definitely need to scrape the bowl a couple of times during the process because you want all the sugar, all the peanut butter, and all the whipped topping to be mixed together,” Drummond says.

And once everything is mixed together, you can fill your pie crust and spread the filling out evenly so that each slice is perfect. Finally, allow the pie to set in the fridge for about four hours before serving.

“If you love peanut butter, this is your dessert,” Drummond says in the segment, and she’s definitely not wrong. Grab the full recipe from her Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie here and treat yourself and your family to rich and creamy goodness with a peanut butter twist.
