Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews welcome a baby boy
It’s a boy for Pippa Middleton, who gave birth to her first child with husband James Matthews on Monday.
Just hours after she was seen entering the Lindo Wing of London’s St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday, there were reports that the Duchess of Cambridge‘s sister was going into labor. Now a spokesperson has confirmed to People and Hello! that the 8-pound 9-ounce bundle of joy was welcomed that same day, assuring that “everyone is delighted, and mother and baby are doing well.”
The 35-year-old socialite announced her pregnancy in June by writing a column in Waitrose magazine about exercising while pregnant. And although she didn’t reveal her due date, people soon found out that the big day would be coming in October.
Just two weeks prior to giving birth, Middleton and Matthews made a quick visit to the maternity ward, stirring rumors that the baby was on the way. Still, the couple had enough time to attend Princess Eugenie’s wedding before checking in to the hospital just three days later.
The exciting birth of the couple’s first child comes right after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s announcement of Markle’s pregnancy. Needless to say, there’s a lot of excitement for the royals and their families.
Congratulations, Pippa and James!
