PITTSBURG, Kan. — College students hosted an event to help raise money for their organization.

The Human Health Performance and Recreation Club of Pitt State held its first-ever Car’rilla Fest in the parking lot of the Student Rec Center.

The HHPR Club was asked by the professor to create an event that they could use to raise money.

The club chose to put together a car show, and it’s been in the works since February.

All the money raised goes to Human Health Performance and Recreation Club scholarships.

“With something first event you just never know how it’s going to go, we did have some pre-register but then we had the weather so not sure how it’ll go and it just went better than I ever could’ve expected. We had a great turn out and we just keep growing from here,” said Makenna Wingfield, the HHPR Club President.

The HHPR Club says they plan on making this an annual event and have already started on next year.
