Planes Collide at JFK Airport Leading to Even More Delays After Winter Storm

Two planes collided at John F. Kennedy International Airport Saturday just after midnight, causing hundreds of flight delays.

East Coast airports have already been dealing with a number of delayed flights due to the powerful bomb cyclone winter storm that hit earlier in the week. A number of flights remain delayed as of Saturday afternoon, according to JFK Airport’s website.

The right wing of a China Southern Airlines plane hit the tail of a Kuwait Airways plane, according to CNBC. The collision caused damage to both planes, but no injuries occurred, and the passengers were able to get off the plane safely.

The China Southern plane was being towed when the collision happened, the Federal Aviation Administration told CNBC. That plane had no passengers onboard. On Twitter, Kuwait Airways said their plane was parked at the time.
