If Your Dog Is Like Your Child, Please Make These Treats With Them For Halloween

Hi, this is my daughter Oatmeal (we call her Oats for short).

And Oats has always partaken in every holiday with our family...but her favorite holiday* by far is Halloween. ????

*How do I know? I'm her mother; I can just tell.

Every year we make tons of Halloween goodies to eat as a family, but sadly Miss Meal does not get to enjoy them. However, a couple of Halloweens ago we made some homemade Halloween-inspired treats that she loved!

So this year, we thought we would make the treats and share the super-easy recipe with other fur baby parents.

To start, you'll need 2 1/2 cups wheat flour (ask your vet what type of flour is best for your dog), 1/2 cup plain canned pumpkin, 2 tbsp natural peanut butter (make sure it doesn't have xylitol in it), 2 large eggs, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1 tsp salt. Oh, and grab a rolling pin and Halloween-shaped cookie cutters!

Please note: This does make quite a big batch, so if you only have one small dog, I would consider splitting it in half.

The recipe is super simple. Basically just mix all of the ingredients listed above together, and this will create a dough that you can knead and roll out with a rolling pin.

Once the dough is flat, cut it with cookie cutters, and pop 'em in the oven at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes!

And voilà — here's what they look like. SUPER easy, SUPER cute — and Oats loves them!
