Plus-size models recreated the Kardashian Calvin Klein ad proving all bodies are beautiful
The Kardashian-Jenner Calvin Klein campaign — featuring Kylie, who was pregnant at the time, holding a big blanket to conceal her baby bump — was instantly iconic. But what’s better than the unofficial first family posing in their Calvins? A curvy version, recreated shot for shot by enterprising plus size models.
Denise Mercedes, a model and advocate, shared a photo of herself with Diana Sirokai, Daisy Christina, and Tammy B, Mercedes side-by-side with the official ad on Instagram. The group posed in black Calvin Klein matching sets that mirrored the Kardashians’ white undergarments. They added the hashtag #CurvesforKlein, and since the shoot only had four models compared to the Kardashian’s five, the hashtag #SorryKylieWentToGiveBirth.

The spot-on recreations have gotten thousands of likes and comments from fans eager to see plus size models represented by the American brand. “Every single one, beautiful,” one commenter wrote in. Another tagged @CalvinKlein itself in her thank you note to the models: “This is the perfect photo shoot to make. It’s time to make all women feel beautiful. All bodies are beautiful. These famous designer need to take notice. I’m here for it.”
Fans even wrote in to ask the models for advice on where to purchase plus-size Calvin Kleins. As of now, that option doesn’t exist. Mercedes wrote back to one commenter, “they don’t have them in plus sizes. They just go up to extra large but they have really good stretch.” However, for many shoppers, “really good stretch” isn’t enough. Let’s hope someone at Calvin Klein noticed just how many potential customers of all body types are out there.
