There’s a reason Skechers are a Yahoo reader fave — they’re synonymous with comfort, durability and affordability. So naturally, when the beloved brand partnered with Amazon for an exclusive line, we were all ears.
The Amazon-Skechers line, called Concept 3, is comprised entirely of sneakers, and each style rings in at under $50. It’s also podiatrist-approved.
“The Concept 3 line offers comfortable options for walking shoes,” Dr. Nelya Lobkova, DPM at Step Up Surgical Podiatry in New York City, shares with Yahoo Life. “All sneakers have a rubber-type sole with cushioning.”
To Dr. Lobkova, cushioning is crucial. “We lose much of the fat pad that provides natural cushioning as we age,” she says. And a firm heel counter, which many of these sneakers have, will “aid in proper alignment of the foot.”
And if you have specific foot issues, take note: “All the pairs in the line have a memory foam insole, which accommodates multiple bony deformities, including bunions, heel spurs and metatarsalgia [when the ball of your foot becomes inflamed], as well as fat-pad atrophy,” Dr. Lobkova adds.

Concept 3 by Skechers Women's to Top It Off Lace-up Fashion Sneaker
A soft suede upper and shiny metallic panel gives these platform sneakers a stylish flourish—but they’re not all about aesthetics. This shoe “has a 1.5 inch heel, which minimizes stress on the Achilles tendon,” says Dr. Lobkova.

Chunky ‘dad’ sneakers aren’t just cool and trendy — they’re a great scoop for those in need of extra cushioning and support.
This sneaker “shows a higher amount of cushioning due to its ‘sawtooth outsole’ and 1.5-inch heel,” Dr. Lobkova says. And we love how the metallic detailing lends a fashion-forward touch to the monotone style.
Concept 3 by Skechers Women's Alexxi Fashion Slip-on Sneaker
If you suffer from bony foot deformities — think bunions and metatarsalgia — consider this comfy slip-on style.
“Bunions and metatarsalgia [bony deformities] need a soft or mesh upper to accommodate a wide forefoot,” Dr. Lobkova explains. “The Alexxi Fashion and Made Pretty Mesh [see below] qualify.”

Like the Alexxi, Dr. Lobkova recommends these kicks, which have a memory foam insole, for bunions and bony deformities like metatarsalgia (a condition where the ball of your foot becomes inflamed).
Concept 3 by Skechers Women's Surprise Hit Lace-up Fashion Sneaker
These stylish sneakers have more than just good looks. According to Dr. Lobkova, they’re a great choice for those on their feet all day, like nurses and teachers.
“When standing for a prolonged period of time, it’s important to have a rigid midsole and a firm heel counter for stability,” the podiatrist explains. You want “the back of the foot slightly more elevated than the ball of the foot—this places the foot in a more neutral position as well as takes tension off of the Achilles tendon, which is important when you’re on your feet all day.”
“The Top it Off [see above] and Surprise Hit Lace-ups both have this gradient for added stability,” she adds. “In addition, the Surprise Hit Lace-Ups have the most amount of traction on the outsoles, which is beneficial in settings that may have fluid spills on the floor.” Think doctor’s offices and hospitals.
