The bakery & cafe was featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” Guy Fieri made an appearance at the scratch breakfast/lunch spot and showcased its Bananas Foster French Toast and La Havana Panini on Season 36, Episode 9 “West Coast Wonders,” which aired on Jan 6, 2023.
“We’ve always prided ourselves on providing our customers with the highest quality food made from fresh and local ingredients; that model is starting to be less sustainable in the current environment” said Drew Hoffos, co-owner of Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe. “We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy delicious, wholesome meals without breaking the bank, and we refuse to compromise on that commitment.”

Despite last year’s appearance on “Diners, Drive Ins & Dives,” the owners said the increased volume was not enough to overcome the rapidly increasing cost of operating.
Drew continued, “Every single input costs more, utilities, insurance, bacon, butter. Even paper goods and things like to-go boxes are eating away at what little margin we had.”
