This Portable Charger Has Over 10,000 Five-star Amazon Reviews

Madison Alcedo

As much as I vow to detach from my phone and other devices while on vacation, I can never truly unplug, and in order to make sure my technology addiction endures, one of the first things on my packing list is my portable charger.

But because it feels like I’m always traveling with a million other travel accessories and tech gadgets in my carry-on bag, having a portable charger that is both lightweight and actually capable of keeping a charge is a must. After years of using portable chargers that easily break or lose charge after an hour, I finally invested in a power bank from Anker — one that we’ve dubbed the best on Amazon.

As the size of a credit card and only 6.35 ounces, there’s no excuse to not pack this handy Anker PowerCore 10000 Portable Charger — it just might be one of the best (and most lightweight) tech accessories you’ll buy for traveling. Compared to other power banks, the Anker PowerCore 10000 uses PowerIQ and VoltageBoost to provide three-and-a-half iPhone 8 charges, two-and-half iPhone X charges, and a little more than two Galaxy S8 charges. But to put it into traveler terms, when the charger is at full charge, you can carry the power bank with you all day and continually keep your battery charged. I’ve charged my iPhone 8 fully at least three times before having to charge the power bank again.

Plus, gone are the days when you have to guess how much power is left in the charger. The PowerCore 10000 is equipped with a button that shows its battery level, so you know when to charge it again. And with more than 10,000 five-star reviews on Amazon, shoppers agree that this portable charger is well worth the $30.

“I bought the PowerCore initially for an international trip and used it multiple times a day for seven days in a row, but also used it for other things like on flights while watching videos on my phone so my phone would be at 100% by the time I got off the plane, and at night when there weren't close enough power outlets to my bed in my hotels,” one reviewer said. “It really made my travelling much easier. I was able to explore the country and not worry about finding a place to charge, so walking 7.5 miles in a single day did not involve a single stop into a Starbucks to charge my phone.”

While Anker has a vast array of power banks to shop, the PowerCore 10000 is the best and fastest option for its price. If you want to charge more devices at a time, Anker’s PowerCore 20100 — with more than 12,000 five-star reviews on Amazon — includes two USB ports to charge two devices at one time, but it comes at a heftier price of $50.

The PowerCore definitely isn’t helping my screen addiction, but it does help during long days of travel when I need to quickly power up my headphones, portable speaker, or phone (especially while navigating!). I’ll never pack my tech pouch without it again.
