Prada Brings Back Iconic Shoes From the Past — Here’s a Closer Look at the Spring ’25 Collection

Prada showcased its spring ’25 womenswear collection during Milan Fashion Week on Thursday and for fashion fans, some of this season’s footwear make look eerily familiar.
Outside of the bright orange waterproof cowboy boots seen on the runway, Prada brought back multiple styles from its archives, including its platform Mary-Janes dipped in rubber at the toe from its fall 2012 collection. This time around, however, the shoes were seen in different colorways, such as camel patent leather and gray rubber, as well as navy and burgundy.
Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada took a page from her spring 1996 playbook, as well, and reintroduced the buckled, chunky criss-cross strap sport sandal.
For another Y2K moment, Prada modernized its popular platform oxford lace-ups from spring 2011 with purple accents, red leather and jute trim.
This isn’t the first time Prada has dug into its archives for past favorites.
In fall 2018, Miuccia Prada brought back the iconic “Hot Rod” shoes from 2012. Inspired by vintage cars, the heels featured sleek automobile-like hardware, as well as cutout leather flames trailing off the heels. Both times, the shoes were an instant hit — selling out within days — and having been seen on celebs from Beyoncé to Kim Kardashian.
