Pregnant Jessica Simpson Leaves Hospital After Suffering from Bronchitis: 'Crazy Painful Journey'
Jessica Simpson is on the mend after spending a week in the hospital recovering from bronchitis.
The singer and fashion mogul, who is pregnant with her third child, wrote on Instagram Sunday that she was home after seeking treatment for the infection.
“After a week in the hospital for bronchitis (my fourth time in 2 months), I’m finally home! Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey,” wrote Simpson, who revealed at her whimsical baby shower in January that she picked the name Birdie for her baby girl.
“I am slowly getting healthier every day,” Simpson continued. “Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing!”
Simpson, 38, added that she is healing and anticipating the birth of her daughter.
“I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile,” Simpson wrote. “Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH.”
The star accompanied her message with a photo showing her in a leopard-print hoodie with a surgical mask covering her mouth.

The “With You” singer later said she managed to control the swelling by experimenting with cupping therapy, an ancient Chinese massage therapy technique thought to increase blood circulation.
Simpson has also revealed that her “severe pregnancy acid reflux” led her to buy herself a special sleep recliner, and said that she suffered a month of sciatica pain, which radiates from one’s lower back down each leg, according to the Mayo Clinic.
