President Trump didn't wish Tiffany a happy birthday for the second year in a row

This weekend, President Trump continued what’s apparently becoming a presidential tradition: The commander in chief didn’t wish his daughter Tiffany a happy birthday, a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Tiffany Trump turned 25 on Saturday, and while the president was as active as ever on Twitter, none of his tweets referenced his younger daughter. President Trump did remember one birthday this weekend, though: He tweeted, “Happy 243rd Birthday to our GREAT @USNavy!” on Saturday morning.

Trump’s other children didn’t mark the occasion on social media, either. It’s worth pointing out, though, that Friday was Lara Trump, Eric Trump‘s wife’s, birthday — and Eric Trump did share a birthday message for his wife on Twitter and Instagram.

Of course, it’s possible that the president’s birthday message for Tiffany is still on the way. But if he were going to mark the occasion, it seems likely he would have done so before posting other tweets on Saturday.

Tiffany Trump, meanwhile, hasn’t posted on Twitter or Instagram since late September. It’s not clear what the Georgetown University law student will be doing to celebrate her special day. But if last year is any indication, she may spend the occasion with some of her family members, even if the president isn’t one of them.

On her 24th birthday, she celebrated in New York with her mom, Marla Maples, as well as her brother Donald Trump Jr. and his family. For those keeping score, President Trump, Melania Trump, and Ivanka Trump didn’t share birthday messages for Tiffany Trump last year either.

Still, it’s worth pointing out that the Trump family’s silence isn’t necessarily a dig at Tiffany. This year, Melania Trump didn’t post a “happy birthday” message to the president. Tiffany did wish her dad a happy birthday in June.

Then again, President Trump celebrated Ivanka’s birthday last year, just weeks after being absent from Tiffany’s birthday festivities. And in 2016, President Trump said on a Fox & Friends panel that he was proud of Tiffany “to a lesser extent” than he was of his eldest three children. Cosmopolitan reported in April that he and Tiffany “barely speak” and their strained relationship has only worsened since his ascension to the White House.

But as Bustle pointed out, President Trump did wish Tiffany a happy birthday in 2013. “Happy birthday to my baby — and keep up the great work at school. We are all proud of you,” Trump tweeted then.

In the past few years, though, it looks like Tiffany’s birthday has gone unnoticed by her dad, at least publicly. Hopefully, President Trump at least gave Tiffany a better gift than his nonexistent birthday present for Melania in April.
