All the Pride Food & Drink Offerings That Support the LGBTQIA+ Community This Month
June is Pride Month, and this year marks the 52nd anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. To recognize those who have protested and continue to protest for equal rights, we’ve rounded up all the food and drink brands (and restaurants) that are giving back to the LGBTQIA+ community and supporting its many vital organizations this month. If you want to truly show up for the LGBTQIA+ community, you should give your business to queer-owned brands and donate to LGBTQIA+ organizations year-round, but here are ten pretty tasty ways to start supporting.
1. Baked by Melissa
The mini cupcake connoisseur’s Pride Collection features rainbow bite-sized cupcakes and is available for nationwide shipping. Ten percent of net proceeds from the cupcakes will be donated to The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in NYC. bakedbymelissa.com
2. Barefoot Wine
Barefoot is donating $1 (and up to $100,000 total) from each case sold of its new Barefoot Bubbly Sweet Rosé (decked out in the transgender Pride flag and rainbow Pride flag) to both the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) and Free Mom Hugs (FMH). barefootwine.com
3. Bobo’s
The Colorado-based snack bar company is using its new ‘Pride’ Lemon Poppyseed Oat Bar ($14.94 for a six-pack) to both showcase art from LGBTQ artists on the wrapper, and to raise funds for Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) and The Center on Colfax, which supports the Colorado LGBTQIA+ community. One hundred percent of sales will go to the two organizations. eatbobos.com
4. Brew Dr. Kombucha
Partnering with the Trevor Project for the third year, Brew Dr. has launched limited-edition rainbow-wrapped bottles and cans of its Love kombucha (jasmine green tea with rose, lavender and chamomile) nationwide. 5. Bubly
This year, the seltzer brand is partnering with Family Equality, an organization that helps LGBTQIA+ parents deal with the financial and legal obstacles of becoming parents. You can support by donating here. bubly.com
6. EFFEN Vodka
This month, the Chicago-based vodka distiller launched the EFFEN Pride 365 edition of its Original Vodka. The label was designed by Chicago-based street muralist Sam Kirk and for every bottle made, it’s giving $1 to Allies in Arts, a nonprofit that supports artists who are womxn, BIPOC and LGBTQQIA2S through grants, exhibits and job opportunities. effenvodka.com
7. Kellogg’s
The brand’s Together with Pride cereal ($4) is a berry-flavored, heart-shaped cereal dusted with edible glitter. It’s available at select major retailers nationwide and from now through November, if you upload your receipt online within 30 days of purchase, Kellogg’s will donate $3 to GLAAD (with a minimum total donation of $100,000 and a maximum of $140,000). kelloggs.com
8. KIND
For the third year in a row, the snack bar company is offering a limited-edition Pride version of its Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt bar, and donating $50,000 to support the Ali Forney Center (AFC) for homeless LGBTQIA+ youth. kindsnacks.com
9. Magnolia Bakery
Two words: Pride pudding. The NYC-based bakery’s rotating banana pudding special features rainbow sprinkles all month long, and a minimum of $10,000 from sales will go to StartOut, a nonprofit whose mission is to increase the number, diversity and impact of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs. 11. Shake Shack
