Royal fans have been waiting anxiously for news about Queen Elizabeth's health over the last few weeks, ever since she was hospitalized for "preliminary investigations," last month. She was back at her desk in Windsor Castle the next day, but has since been forced to cancel several in-person appearances after being advised to rest by her medical team.

During his visit to Jordan this week, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, gave an update on his mother's health. At an event focused on the climate crisis, a reporter from Sky News asked the prince how the queen was doing.

"She’s all right, thank you very much," he answered, per Today. "Once you get to 95, it’s not quite as easy as it used to be," he joked, adding, "It’s bad enough at 73!"

Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have this week embarked on their first overseas tour since the COVID-19 pandemic began last year. They are visiting Jordan and Egypt over the course of their four-day trip, discussing the environment, which has long been a priority for Charles.

Buckingham Palace initially announced that the Queen would be at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday, to lead the annual service honoring Britain's fallen soldiers. But just a few hours before the service was due to begin, the Palace released a statement announcing that she would attend after all, because she had sprained her back. Sources reported that the Queen was “deeply disappointed” to miss the service, which she considers to be one of the most significant engagements on her calendar.

The Queen has also reportedly been forced to give up her beloved pastime of horseback riding, at least temporarily. Here's hoping that Her Majesty will be back in fighting (and riding) shape very soon.
