Happy holidays from the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie! Ahead of Dec. 25, the senior members of the royal family unveiled their Christmas card—or rather, it leaked before they shared it via social media.
On Monday, Dec. 18, the Daily Mail revealed details about Prince Edward and Sophie's 2023 Christmas card, which featured the royals' joint monogram and sweet but simple message.
The card read: “Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year from Edward, Sophie, Louise and James,” referencing their two children, Lady Louise Windsor, 20, and James, Earl of Wessex, 16.
Although the Christmas card didn't feature a family photo with the kids, it did include a picture of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Daily Mail reported. The image reportedly shows the royal couple smiling in Edinburg, Scotland, on March 10 at the Edinburgh City Chambers.

Coincidently, the holiday greeting photo is from Prince Edward's 59th birthday—the same day Buckingham Palace revealed that King Charles III conferred the "Duke of Edinburgh" title on his youngest brother. Before King Charles and Prince Edward, the title belonged to Prince Philip.
"The Dukedom was last created for Prince Philip in 1947, upon his marriage to Princess Elizabeth, who held the title of Duchess of Edinburgh before acceding to the throne in 1952," a news release from Buckingham Palace reads. "The new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are proud to continue Prince Philip's legacy of promoting opportunities for young people of all backgrounds to reach their full potential."
