How Prince George's Birthday Portraits Compare to Previous Years
The day before Prince George's fifth birthday, Kensington Palace released an adorable new portrait of the young royal.
In the gorgeous photo, taken by royal photographer Matt Porteous, Prince George is positively beaming. Wearing the very same outfit he wore to Prince Louis' christening, Prince George gives the biggest grin to the camera, making this the perfect birthday portrait, chosen by his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William.
But how does Prince George's official fifth birthday portrait compare to previous years?
As the royal family's Instagram revealed, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photo which was taken in the garden at Clarence House by Matt Porteous, following the christening of Prince Louis on 9 July." Prince George looks delighted in his latest portrait, having spent the day with his family at his little brother's christening. Wearing his signature shirt and shorts combo, Prince George looks smart, and is growing up so fast.
When the little royal turned four, his family released a similar photo, taken at Kensington Palace in London, by royal photographer Chris Jackson:
Much like Prince George's fifth birthday portrait, Prince William's eldest son smiles broadly in the photo, seeming to be a very happy child.
For Prince George's third birthday, this year's photographer, Matt Porteous, had the honor of taking the series of shots released by the palace. Porteous said in a statement, via Today, "It was a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere."
His 2nd birthday was celebrated with a candid shot of the little royal being held by his father, Prince William:
And finally, the prince's first birthday gave us this gorgeous photo of Kate Middleton with her husband, and first born child, visiting the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at the Natural History Museum:
Prince George's personality shines through in every photo.
